A young kid has become something of a celebrity in his own playground after Wayne Rooney broke his wrist with an off-target shot. This is the video of the shot in question.
Nine-year-old Jamie Thomas was watching Manchester United warm up for the game against Wolves when Rooney unleashed a powerful shot towards goal. He missed the goal but hit Thomas.
The young kid instinctively raised his arm to protect his face, but the force of the ball broke his wrist as a result. Thomas ended up going to hospital and missing the second half of the match.
Rooney was unaware of the incident at the time, but has since apologized and arranged for a signed shirt to be sent to Thomas. Meanwhile the kid is lapping up all the attention.
