I’m a big fan of Weird Al Yankovic, thinking his music parodies are the best around. And here is proof that that’s always what he has done best, with his debut TV performance on The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder.
He sings ‘Another One Rides The Bus’, obviously a spoof of ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ by Queen. It’s not his best song, and I must admit I’d never heard it before watching this YouTube video.
I love his hair in this, as it seems to have a life of its own completely. It sort of became his trademark, along with his zany choice of colourful clothes, which again he is already modelling here 26 years ago.
Last year he released the brilliant ‘Straight Outta Lynwood’ album, mocking rappers and bling, and everything in between. That album got me back in to him, and even received two Grammy award nominations. The guy is a genius.
