TIL that in California there’s a road which plays a tune as you drive over it. Unfortunately, it isn’t a tune you’re likely to recognize.

California’s musical road is meant to play the William Tell Overture by Rossini, but it sounds nothing like it. And this video explains why.

Whether this is down to the designers, the engineers, or a simple miscommunication, the upshot is an abomination that cost a small fortune to build.

The most interesting part of this story is that this is the second attempt at building this musical road, and the first sounded better (but still not quite right).
