Why Is Daylight Savings Time Still A Thing? Video | Last Week Tonight With John Oliver

I don’t agree with a lot of what John Oliver says on Last Week Tonight, but I’m 100% behind this segment asking why daylight savings time is still a thing.

Well, why is it still a thing? If you answered with “farmers” then hang your head in shame and go and stand in the corner reserved for dunces.

It turns out that daylight savings time was invented by the Germans during World War I. Other countries then adopted the system, and it has stuck ever since.

The problem is that it makes no sense in this day and age. World War I happened 100 years ago, after all. Let’s end this charade. Please.
