I don’t know about you but I haven’t spent a great deal of time flicking through illuminated manuscripts from the 12th and 13th centuries.
However, it turns out that some people have never heard of Netflix, and so they find leafing through illustrated books from 800 years ago entertaining.
There is a lot of strange and unusual imagery contained within these books, including a load of hand-drawn pictures showing medieval knights fighting snails.
Unfortunately, there weren’t human-sized snails around at that time, and it’s more likely that they’re just a way of insulting foreigners. Donald Trump must have ancient ancestors.
