This is one of the worst examples of mindless cruelty I’ve ever had the misfortune of witnessing. Luckily, thanks to a CCTV camera trained on the front gate of this house, the woman who commits the act has been identified.
As cats do, at least the friendly ones, this one approaches the middle-aged passer-by who seems to want to stroke it. The cat jumps on the wall to get some attention, and instead gets roughly dumped into a wheelie bin.
Why would someone do this? It defies belief and any sense of what is right and wrong. Have cats done something bad to this woman? Has this cat in particular taken a dump in her garden?
The cat is fine after being found by its owners. The woman, meanwhile, has been identified and questioned by the RSPCA. She is also reportedly getting police protection because of threats made to her life after the incident made it to mainstream media.
If there’s any justice in the world then she’ll face the same punishment as she inflicted – 15 hours in a wheelie bin should sort out her attitude.
