Today, December 1st, is World AIDS Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of the illness which has already killed over 25 million people around the world.

This video charts the pandemic from its origins in Africa to the present day when almost every country in the world is affected. Africa is still the worst affected area due to a lack of contraception and education about the dangers.

AIDS, and the HIV virus that causes it is now regarded as a pandemic, with millions of people suffering from the illness. The range of people affected includes every race, religion, creed, gender, and sexual orientation.

Governments around the world are now doing a lot more to educate people and inhibit the spread of the disease than they once did. But there’s always more that can be done, and today is the day to get that point across to those in charge.
