I’ve never been much of a bike rider myself, but bicycle racing has always amazed me. There’s just something about people going that fast with no motor power that boggles the mind. Just look at this guy. His name is Markus Stoeckl, and he broke the world speed record for series mountain bikes at 130.7 miles per hour.
He made the run in the Chilean Alps, on a snow-covered slope with a 45 degree angle. It’s amazing to watch, and his adrenaline must have been through the roof.
It’s a good thing he didn’t hit a piece of ice or a rock on the way down. It might have made the video a bit more interesting, but poor Markus probably wouldn’t have been laughing about it.
