With this new series of The X Factor UK under way, we’re taking a look at both the really terrible singers and some of the best who may make it further on to the latter stages of the competition.
They changed the rules this year to enable people as young as fourteen to enter and participate. While I have reservations about this, it did enable us to see a girl called Emily on the first show of the series.
Emily is the youngest contestant ever on The X Factor being just fourteen at the time of her audition.
Her story was even more interesting as she’d had a near death experience a year before coming on the show, suffering from a ruptured appendix.
My problem with the new rule is that these are kids entering. Is it right to submit children to this cut-throat process, and the whims of the judges Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, Simon Cowell & Danni Minogue?
