The She & Him from the title aren’t Deschanel and Gibbard, but the name of her band, which comprises her and M. Ward. But it’s Zooey and Ben that have split, their marriage ending after just two years.
Zooey Deschanel is an actress (Yes Man, 500 Days Of Summer) and musician/singer, while Ben Gibbard is the lead singer of rock band Death Cab for Cutie. They married in Seattle in 2009.
The reasons for the breakup of their marriage aren’t clear. Friends say they seemed happy and harmonious even up to a few months ago. But they have parted ways regardless.
Deschanel is absolutely gorgeous, so I’m sure she won’t be single for long. And Gibbard is a rock front man so could probably have any woman he desired. They seemed like a good match.
