Since the Dodge Viper will be out of production in 2011 (R.I.P), Chrysler is planning a handful of new sports cars that might replace it. The revived Dodge Demon is one of those being considered for production be either late 2009 or 2010.
Called “an attainable dream car” by Chrysler, the new Dodge is expected to compete with cars in the class of the Mazda Miata and Pontiac Solstice. Specs for the Demon include: a 2.4 L gasoline World Engine, Six-speed manual transmission, and 172 hp.
The car has been shown in it’s concept form in 2007 and 2008 auto shows and looks to be a combination of the Honda S200 with a V-10 Dodge Viper. No official word on the 0 to 60, but it should be noted the original 1971 Dodge Demon got 0-60 in 7.8 seconds.
