Adam Greenberg may not be a sporting legend in the traditional sense of the term, but his name will probably be remembered for a long time to come.
For those who haven’t heard the story, Greenberg is a baseball player who got his chance in the Major League with the Chicago Cubs in 2005. However, the first ball pitched at him hit him on the head and caused a concussion.
Greenberg was removed from the game and never played for the Cubs again. He has since played for teams in the minor leagues, but the Miami Marlins gave him one last shot by sticking him in to bat for one game.
He struck out, unfortunately, so the home run that people were dreaming of never materialized. But he still received a standing ovation for never giving up.
