George Takei always seems pretty happy, but right now he’s ecstatic. He’s led efforts to raise more than $158, 000 to take the musical Allegiance to Broadway.
This drive is about more than simply a gay man with a penchant for show tunes. George claims Allegiance is the first musical to tackle Japanese-American internment during World War II. It sounds like a bit of a downer, but look how successful Les Mis is!
George made sure all donators got their money’s worth by treating them, and us, to his happy dance. And of course, because it’s George Takei, it’s awesome.
