There’s not a lot to do in Yemen. They’ve got some sand, and some camels, and that’s about it. And so, camel jumping was born.
The rules of this crazy sport are simple. Yemen’s elite athletes run like mad, and then jump over the waiting camels. Now when you consider that camels stand up to two meters tall, that’s pretty impressive!
These guys are professionals, and they easily clear these amazing jumps. It’s extraordinary, but I can’t lie. I’d hoped to see some of the country’s novice camel jumpers in action, just for laughs. Come on, you know you wanted to watch someone eat sand too!
