Astoria Scum River Bridge Brings Change Video | Real People Make a Difference

24 sec read

If you’ve ever felt like you were too insignificant to make a difference, you need to watch this video. It shows two ordinary guys who brought about some big changes in their city.

Sick of walking over the New York subway leak lovingly dubbed the Astoria Scum River, Jason Eppink and Posterchild bought a bridge for pedestrians. People began to take notice, including the media and local council.

All this attention compelled Amtrak to fix the leak, and the sidewalk was restored to its former glory.

This is an example of people power at its finest. All it took was a crude bridge made by a couple of regular Joes to inspire change.
