On Monday (June 2), Belgium played Japan in the second round of the 2018 World Cup. And oh my, what a game this was.
Heading into the match Belgium were the clear favorites. They have a better team, better players, and more experience at World Cups. But this game didn’t follow the script.
Japan surprisingly went 2-0 up, leaving Belgium with the uphill task of scoring three goals in 35 minutes. Unbelievably they managed it, scoring the winner with the last kick of the game.
This wasn’t the best match of the World Cup, but I’ve personally never seen such a magnificent comeback as the one Belgium managed.
