I love the Pokemon games as much as the next person, but I’m still not convinced the world needs a movie called Detective Pikachu.
This video shows the second trailer for Detective Pikachu, and it’s a whole new level of bonkers. I spent most of the trailer wondering who thought this was a good idea.
The one thing that may save this movie from being a complete and utter failure is the casting of Ryan Reynolds as the titular Detective Pikachu.
I’m not even sure it’s Reynolds playing Pikachu. It sounds more like Wade Wilson (AKA Deadpool) got cast in the role instead. Which obviously isn’t a bad thing.
