A capybara has been spotted roaming around Paso Robles in California. There’s no need to panic though, it’s only the world’s largest rodent which has extremely sharp teeth and a bad attitude. Run!!!
OK, so I’m only kidding around. There is a capybara in the area, because someone spotted photographed it emerging from a wastewater treatment plant a few weeks ago. But that’s the whole story in a nutshell.
The chances are the capybara will live out its days in the river not doing anyone any harm, and not even interacting with humans on any level. If they leave it alone, it will leave them alone.
Someone likely acquired this animal as a pet and either let it out into the wild or saw it escape. Unless it finds a capybara of the opposite sex then we don’t have to worry about a troupe of capybara suddenly invading the U.S.
