Whether on PC, console, or mobile, all games sound very similar. Sure, some of the modern games have sweeping soundtracks, but there are still similarities.
This video sees some guy trying to replicate the typical soundtrack you would hear on a video game from yesteryear. When Mario, Sonic, and Donkey Kong ruled the roost.
Having played a lot of games in those days I think this guy has nailed it. The songs reflect the on-screen action, whether it’s a type of level or a boss fight.
I just wish this guy would record full versions of his songs, and then some indie developer could build a game around the music. I’d play it.
