Sony has revealed the PlayStation 5 logo. It’s very familiar, using the same typeface and style of the PlayStation 4 logo. Just with a 5 instead of a 4.
With the internet being the internet, people have quickly joined in mocking Sony for its lack of creativity. And this video is one of the best examples of that meme.
OK, so it’s a simple change, and I’m laughing at this video along with everyone else. However, Sony has pulled off a masterstroke.
The PlayStation is an immensely popular brand, and the PS4 caned the Xbox One in terms of sales. So, why would Sony change things up too much? That’s what building a brand is all about.
