J.K. Rowling has been getting stick of late over her revisionism towards the Harry Potter universe. She’s claiming all sorts of things about all sorts of characters.
The one revelation that seems to have stuck, and which makes sense, is that Dumbledore is gay. It was never made clear in the books, but it’s certainly believable.
Unfortunately, the other claims Rowling has made in hindsight don’t make much sense. And you have to question her motives.
I think her heart is in the right place, and she’s just trying to make Harry Potter more inclusive, but doing so in hindsight is problematic in its own right.
