If you have ever listened to The Beatles through headphones you’ll know that sometimes you can hear the vocals are in one ear and the instruments in the other ear.
This is all to do with the early stereo mixes applied to The Beatles albums. And while it has its charm it makes it impossible to listen to a song in one ear.
This video shows a small group of musicians demonstrating what it’s like to listen to The Beatles in one ear. And it’s pretty damn accurate.
The sad thing is that even listening to The Beatles in one ear is more fun than listening to most modern music in two ears. But then I am getting old.
