Have you ever wondered what Google would have been like had it existed in the 1980s? No, me neither. But someone, somewhere clearly has. And this is the result.
This video shows an approximation of the process of conducting a Google search in the 1980s, had the technology existed.
You would have needed to know DOS commands, wait an eternity for it to connect via dial-up, and then receive very disappointing results. This video makes me glad it’s 2012 rather than 1985.
In a nutshell I think we can safely say that if Google were invented in the 1980s it would have really sucked. But then we wouldn’t have known any different at the time, so perhaps it wouldn’t have. I’m even confusing myself now.
