President Donald Trump has pardoned Susan B. Anthony, an advocate for women’s rights who was arrested and convicted of voting in her local election at a time when it was illegal for women to vote.
This has caused controversy. Not because Susan B. Anthony didn’t deserve to be pardoned, but because Trump’s reasoning, timing, and hypocrisy are clear for everyone to see.
Trump ran against Hillary Clinton, who could have been the first female POTUS. He’s also in the GOP, which has low female representation.
However, worst of all, Trump is currently trying to suppress voters’ rights by undermining the US Postal Service despite mail-in ballots likely to be crucial in the forthcoming presidential election.
