You might not truly appreciate how much of a genius George Lucas is. Sure, the original Star Wars trilogy was good and all, but then he spent decades needlessly tinkering with them before screwing us all with the prequel trilogy. What a waste of space!
No. He’s a genius, and this video shows why.
This is Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker himself, on a British chatshow in 1983. He reveals that Lucas has plans to make a Star Wars movie around 2011 in which Hamill will play an Obi Wan Kenobi-type character passing the torch onto a new generation of heroes.
Lo and behold, it’s 2014, and we’re a year away from seeing the new Star Wars in which Hamill is expected to play just such a character. I told you he’s a genius.
