From their TV, to their animals, to their people, it appears that Japan is indeed entirely unique from America. Take this Japanese Airline CEO, for example; when he found out his company was struggling, he decided to cut his own pay.
CEOs of US Airlines may be making $200,000,000 annually, but this Japanese one is making less than $90,000!
Since the US economy is in a recession, you’d think that American companies would be doing their best to help their employees. But in fact, the majority of them simply lay off more workers and never feel a dent in their wallet.
If the role of a CEO is to do whatever it takes to keep the company a float, then I’m pretty sure this Japanese CEO is doing a hell of a job. The best part is, he doesn’t make a big deal about it- he even laughs at the idea of not doing so!
And we wonder why billion dollar bailouts are an American thing.
