This video shows Columbian NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya driving into the back of the jet dryer safety truck during the Daytona 500.
This once again shows what a stupid sport NASCAR is. Whose brilliant idea was it to use a car loaded with jet fuel to clean the track? It’s like an accident waiting to happen.
That ‘safety’ vehicle was carrying around 200 gallons of jet fuel, and it’s driving around the track in front of fast vehicles which are hard to control and which can often act in unexpected ways.
To be fair to Montoya it looks as though his car developed some kind of mechanical problem and that by the time he plowed into the back of the jet dryer he was pretty much a passenger rather than a driver. But still.
