Kim Kardashian, wife of Kanye West and reality television star, opened up about the Paris robbery which left her distraught and fearful for her life. She appeared on Thursday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show giving her first live account of the events.

“I know this sounds crazy, but I know that was meant to happen to me. I don’t want to start crying, but I feel like that was so meant to happen to me” said a tearful Kardashian in response to Ellen’s statement “I don’t know that everybody understand how horrific that experience must have been for you.”

Kardashian states that she was being flashy and was very materialistic prior to the robbery. “I’m such a different person” she said.

“I just don’t care about that stuff anymore. I really don’t” said Kardashian. She acknowledged a person’s right to have nice things and be proud of their hard work, but she also stated that it’s just “not who I am anymore.”

Ellen prompted Kardashian to go over the events of the robbery with her stating that the men had been following her for nearly two years. She says that the robbers had been watching interviews and pinpointing the actress as a potential target.

She said “I don’t know if I’d ever wear real jewelry again” said Kardashian.

She states that she now has several security guards that follow her and remain outside of her door day and night so that she can sleep at night.

“The door was locked; I didn’t answer the door” she said. The robbers reportedly threatened a concierge with a gun pointed at his head to lead them to the “rapper’s wife.”

Kim also dished on Caitlyn Jenner’s latest memoirs stating that her father is “not being honest” about his marriage to his wife. She ended the segment stating that there’s no need for a book and “just don’t bash other people. I just think, like, it’s not tasteful.”
