This video shows an animated documentary of what it would have been like if George Lucas and the Star Wars team had ended up making the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy.
I love the way this is done, showing talking heads discussing the processes involved in the making of the classic films.
A lot of the jokes have been done before, such as Lucas going out of his way to displease the fans, but when done this well, it makes for a great satire.
I’m not saying Lucas only makes films for the money rather than the artistic qualities, but well, part of me thinks he does, and obviously so do the makers of this animation.
After watching this, I’m just ecstatic that George Lucas stuck to Star Wars and didn’t sign up for turning Tolkien’s classic literature into a Hollywood blockbuster.
