The X Factor ended last night in a thrilling final which saw Matt Cardle, one-time painter and decorator, crowned series champion ahead of Rebecca Ferguson and One Direction.
This video shows Cardle singing the song he’ll now release in the hopes of grabbing the Christmas number one this Sunday. And it was this performance that actually won him the competition.
Cardle is a deserving winner, but he was helped massively by this being a brilliant song (by Biffy Clyro, for those interested). All of the top four (including Cher Lloyd) will likely get careers from this, anyway.
It was later revealed that Cardle had been in the top two throughout the ten-week run and was always destined to win. And just think how much money has been spent on voting for him throughout that time. No wonder Simon Cowell is a multi-millionaire.
