New Moon is the latest movie in the Twilight Saga. It was released today and the first reviews are starting to filter through. This one is by Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune.
I resisted reading the books or seeing the first movie as I didn’t think they’d be for me. Then I finally saw Twilight on DVD and really enjoyed it – I also realized it isn’t just for hormone-encrusted teenagers.
New Moon is getting mixed reviews so far, with some suggesting it’s a little boring without the simmering chemistry between the two leads as they spend most of the film apart. Others feel it’s a better movie than the first and better even than the book.
Regardless of whether it’s any good or not, New Moon is bound to be a box office smash. And there are two more movies being made as well, with Eclipse due out next year and Breaking Dawn due in 2011.
