On Feb. 16, 2009, a lady by the name of Charla Nash was attacked and mauled by her friend’s 200lb chimp at his house in Stamford, Connecticut.
Rather than sell her pictures to the press for million of dollars, Nash decided to give Oprah an exclusive on The Oprah Winfrey Show. On Wednesday’s show she revealed her face to the public for the first time.
Charla and Oprah sat in a darkened room and talked about the incident. Charla kept her face covered for much of the interview but then agreed to remove the veil.
Nash is blind, has trouble breathing, eats through a straw, and has just partial use of her hands. She’s going to have to live with her injuries forever though she claims not to remember anything about the attack.
Charla Nash is suing former friend Sandra Herold and I really don’t blame her. Keeping such an animal in a residential dwelling is truly stupid. I have so much sympathy for Charla Nash.
