This video shows the career highlights reel of Ryan Freel. Normally this would be something to celebrate, but it comes at a time of sadness, with Freel having been found dead at the tender age of 36.
Freel reportedly took his own life, with the cause of death being a self-inflicted shotgun blast. He leaves behind a wife and three young daughters.
Ryan Freel was a utility player/all-rounder who enjoyed eight seasons in the Major League. His longest spell at one club came for the Cincinnati Reds, where he scored 22 home runs and 134 stolen bases.
He was plagued by injury from 2006, eventually retiring in 2010. He then coached baseball to kids until the time of his death.
