The new Sleeping Beauty movie definitely isn’t one for the kids. The film, which will compete for the Palme d’Or at Cannes next month, sees Emily Browning playing a young prostitute who sleeps while her clients do as they please.
The creepy yet beautiful film is the work of first-time Australian director Julia Leigh. The cinematography really is stunning, but does anyone want to see a movie with such grotesque subject matter.
It’s exciting to see Emily Browning taking on such a meaty role though. While she may be snoozing through much of it, this movie’s got to be more challenging than Sucker Punch.
It’s expected that Sleeping Beauty will land in cinemas around the world late June.
