Sweden Wins Eurovision 2012 | “Euphoria” by Loreen

Sweden has taken out Eurovision for 2012 with its entrant Loreen and her up tempo song “Euphoria.”

With a name like “Euphoria,” perhaps the track was always destined to make the European audience feel elated.

It’s not quite your standard Eurovision fare though, despite its dance feel. There are no pyrotechnics to enhance the number, the lighting’s minimal, and the song’s pretty light on the cheese. If it weren’t for all that fake snow, I might not know it was a Eurovision number at all!

With Loreen’s victory the Eurovision contest will move to Sweden next year. Bring on Stockholm (or wherever else they decide to hold it!)
