Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama unveiled their new portraits yesterday. Which will hang in the U.S. National Portrait Gallery for centuries.
The Obamas themselves seemed impressed, but everyone else is a little less enthused by the strange choices made by both artists.
Barack Obama is shown sitting in a bush for some strange reason. And the portrait of Michelle Obama doesn’t look anything like Michelle Obama.
Art is obviously subjective, but I can’t see the appeal of these. The first black POTUS and First Lady deserved much better portraits than these artists managed, in my humble opinion.
