I’m blessed to be the proud owner of a very good looking cat. But owners of pets love their animals regardless of the way they look, sometime even choosing a particular breed for its unique or unusual features.
This is in evidence at The World’s Ugliest Dog Contest, which this year took place on Friday (June 26). The event takes place at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in California, and has been running for 21 years now.
There were certainly some ugly creatures on display. Some were so ugly I couldn’t work out which were the front and back ends. Pabst eventually win the contest, for being a Boxer dog with a particularly severe underbite.
The only problem I have with this event is its billing as The World’s Ugliest Dog Contest. It’s not a global event at all, instead just limited to people in California who are able to take their dog to the Sonoma-Marin Fair. I’m sure there are some uglier pooches in other parts of the world.
