Spinal Tap are one of the greatest rock bands that never were, and the film This is Spinal Tap is one of the best comedy films ever made.
This scene is probably the most well known, and inspired of all in the film, with lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel showing the fake documentary maker around his collection of guitars and amps.
The whole thing is incredibly funny, and the vast majority was actually ad libbed by the actors, which makes it all the more incredible.
The best part of the scene, and a line which has inspired many spoofs and pop culture references is “These go to Eleven!“
Christopher Guest who plays Nigel Tufnel is now a movie director and has made some of the funniest films in recent years including Best In Show.
Spinal Tap recently reunited for the Live Earth concert in London, where they played Big Bottom with an army of bass players. It was incredible, and I now want to see them live … world tour anyone?
