“Legal and e-safety experts have raised questions about how safe it is for parents to share pictures of their kids on the internet.
“The act, which has been dubbed “sharenting”, involves parents posting images of their children on social media sites.
“According to Leah Plunkett from Harvard Law School, it could lead to some issues.
“”I really encourage parents to avoid posting anything that reveals a child’s full name, their exact date of birth, their exact geographic location – be that home, school, karate studio,” Plunkett told A Current Affair.
“”Always post kids fully dressed.
“”Even innocent photos of a tiny little kid’s bath time with bubbles or day at the beach can invite unwanted attention and be repurposed.””
