“Yesterday, Ubisoft released promotional art for Far Cry 5, and tomorrow, they’ll have a full on trailer reveal.
“In that one day of blissful ignorance of knowing a tiny bit about the setting but not the whole story, I wanted to talk about a direction I think would be pretty insane/amazing for the game to go.
“I’m not going to dive into the whole political aspect of the reveal, which includes a bunch of white, bearded cult-members toting guns in front of a church eating on a custom American flag.
“There will be a time for that, and all the debates about Ubisoft’s intent being if this is some sort of “Trump’s America” commentary.
“Conversely, there are people getting mad that Trump’s name is even brought up when this imagery is evoked, as I have learned after being yelled at on Twitter all day yesterday.”
