“For the first time since that ubiquitous Oscars slap, Jada Pinkett Smith is sharing her thoughts on what went down.
“She kicked off Wednesday’s episode of Red Table Talk, her Facebook Watch series with her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, and her daughter, Willow, by addressing the camera solo.
“The slap, which got Smith banned from the Academy Awards for a decade, was largely absent from the remainder of Wednesday’s episode.
“It did feature a conversation with Niki Ball, the mother of Rio Allred—a 12-year-old who killed herself after being bullied for her alopecia-related baldness.
“Ball recalled being stunned that the Oscars incident happened just two weeks after Allred took her own life.”
