“Nearly 70 years after the 1955 lynching of 14-year-old Emmett Till, MGM has released the official trailer for its forthcoming biopic about Emmett’s mother Mamie Till-Mobley’s fight for justice after her son’s killing.
“In August 1955, Till was accused of making improper advances toward a white woman, Carolyn Bryant Donham, while at a market in Mississippi.
“The 14-year-old Chicago teen, who was visiting family in the Mississippi Delta region, was subsequently kidnapped, tortured, and killed by a group of white men. Till’s case would go on to galvanize the Civil Rights Movement.
“Scheduled to hit select theaters on Oct. 14, followed by a nationwide release on Oct. 28, Till stars Danielle Deadwyler (The Harder They Fall) as Till’s mother.”
