Weird Al Yankovic gets Star Wars. I mean, he really gets it. Which is why this song, The Saga Begins, works so well.
It’s old, sure, having been released in 1999, the same year Star Wars: The Phantom Menace came out in cinemas. But it’s still genius.
The reason for posting The Saga Begins today it’s that the date is May 4th. Which, if you haven’t worked it out by now, is Star Wars Day thanks to the pun, “May The 4th Be With You.”
It helps that Star Wars is back on the agenda, with a new film due out at the end of 2015. So if you hate Star Wars you’d better prepare yourself for a lot more puns in the years to come.
