This is the trailer for new movie Your Highness. It’s from the same director as Pineapple Express, but while that was a hit I’m not sure this will be. Especially as it cost $50 million to make; a lot for a stoner comedy these days.
I have to say the trailer doesn’t exactly grab me and insist I go and see Your Highness. I loved Pineapple Express, and like James Franco, Natalie Portman, and Zooey Deschanel. But I don’t particularly like Danny McBride, and this film just doesn’t look very funny.
Perhaps it’s the subject matter, as medieval times have been spoofed so many times that there’s barely a joke left to tell which directly feeds into that particular period of history.
Whatever the reason Your Highness looks like being a bit of a miss. Which will hit both James Franco and Natalie Portman especially hard coming directly after successful movies for both of them.
