The Amazon Kindle is a device that lets you carry around books and read them, all in digital form. While not being everyone’s cup of tea, early sales figures suggest a healthy future for the product.
In fact, sales so far are matching those of the Apple iPod in its first year on sale, and we all know what happened next both in terms of the iPod and digital music in general.
This has lead some people to speculate that the Kindle is about to go as mainstream as the iPod. And it could well happen. It just depends whether you prefer tradition over ease.
I’d love a Kindle but they’re now even on sale in the UK yet so I have no chance. And they’re too expensive anyway. Get those two issues sorted out and I’m sold on the idea.
