Google has been working on self-driving cars for several years now, but this is the first time it has tested a prototype vehicle with real passengers.
I’m rather jealous of the people who got to ride in one of the Google self-driving cars prototypes, but must admit I’d have been a little nervous on the day.
These self-driving cars from Google have no manual controls whatsoever. You simply get in, program a route, buckle up, and then sit back and enjoy the ride.
Keeping you safe are a host of sensors capable of seeing in every direction, and software capable of getting you from A to B, hopefully in one piece.
Give it 10 years and Google’s self-driving cars may be a common sight on our roads. Fingers crossed.
