Nyle Improves Lil’ Wayne’s ‘Let The Beat Build’ Video | Best Rap Video Of 2009?

When NYU college rapper Nyle first heard ‘Let The Beat Build’ on Lil’ Wayne’s Tha Carter III album, he and his friends toyed with the idea of making a live cover version with a band. It’s been months later, but the idea had finally become a reality.

What you see above is actually done in a single take with live audio. Nyle even takes it upon himself to come up with verses containing substance- Lil’ Wayne watch and learn.

The actual process to perform and record this video took a team of 36 people. The final version seen above is a result of 6 practice sessions and 31 takes within a 24 hour period. Nyle and his label 194 Recordings even had to apply for a grant to get enough money to shoot.

And, if you ask me, all the hard work is definitely worth it. Hands down, this is the most creative music video I’ve seen in a long time.
