Onboard cameras give us amazing views as the shuttle Atlantis launches and then the detatched rocket boosters fall back to Earth.
On July 8th, the space shuttle Atlantis will make the final shuttle flight into Earth Orbit. This awesome footage is from a previous flight to Hubble, but the last flight will be a re-supply mission to the International Space Station.
This is the passing of an era that has seen many missions to space and two incredible disasters when Challenger and Columbia blew up, on camera, in front of millions of viewers.
The shuttles have been a main feature in a program that replaced the Apollo missions that took us to the Moon, and now, in a little more than a week, the program ends.
