The Zero Punctuation video reviews are absolutely unmissable, whether you’re in to video games or not. And this one, for Silent Hill Homecoming, is no exception.
The Silent Hill franchise started in Japan but is now made in America, and that is the main thrust of this review by Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw. Without a doubt, Japan wins.
The big problem is that Japanese and American horrors are completely different in their approaches, and those differences filter through spectacularly in Silent Hill Homecoming.
As Croshaw concludes, if the Silent Hill name was killed off then this game wouldn’t be al that bad. As it is, it just can’t live up to the standards set with the first two games.
