I understand the need in Hollywood for a good noir throwback, but sweet Jesus this looks bad.
On paper ‘The Spirit’ looks great- it stars the beautiful Scarlett Johansson and everyone’s favorite badass Samuel L. Jackson. Better yet, Frank Miller has already had two critically acclaimed films behind his belt. But for a second, lets pretend he wasn’t the man behind Sin City or 300 and focus on the obvious cheesiness of this trailer:

If you’re a true fan of Frank Miller, I suggest skipping this one and waiting for the 300 sequel or perhaps Sin City 2. We wouldn’t want Frank to make another one of these mistakes. For the sake of humanity, lets not have another movie with Samuel L Jackson wearing eye make-up.
